Commute in comfort and style with Raleigh's Detour iE Step-Through. This aluminum bike features a 250W Shimano STePS centerdrive motor that assists your pedal stroke up to 20 miles per hour. That means you pedal when you want to and motor when you need to, or a combo of both, so your commute is flat-out enjoyable. 700c wheels do the spinning and coast easily over cracks and rough pavement, while tacky Kenda tires ensure you corner with confidence. Shimano hydraulic discs make sure you have the ability to modulate your speed under any condition. The Detour is topped off with plenty of reliable components from Raleigh and a comfortable, plush seat.

I bought this bike to commute to work from a ferry; it is a bit heavy to lift but I can manage. It handles quite well and the brakes and tires have held up. I usually use the "Eco" setting, even when pedaling up inclines. I really like this bike!
With this bike, there are no more hills. It is the easiest, best bike I have ever owned (except getting it up stairs, since it is heavy - not as heavy as lots of other e bikes though - but it has a WALK mode which makes the stairs totally manageable). I have been riding bikes in SF since 1978 but now that I'm 70 it was taking me longer to get around. Not any more. I have put over 1000 miles on it since mid-march and have had absolutely no problem with anything - gears, brakes, tires. It is a fabulous bike!!!
